Radio channels

Radio channels appear in the CAD radio window during an active shift. This is where you create, tune, and remove them.

The Channels tab lists every radio channel in your department.

Create a channel

Open the Radio page

CAD admin panel → Radio.

Click + Create Channel

Green button, top-right.

Fill in the form

Set the name, frequency, group, restrictions, permissions, and mode.

Save

The channel appears in the table immediately.

Fields

Field	Description
Name	Display name in the CAD radio window
Frequency	Radio frequency (e.g. `670`)
Mode	`FM` or `AM`
Group	The group this channel belongs to
Panel	Which panel the channel appears on — `POLICE`, `EMS`, `FIRE`, etc.
Agencies	Which agencies have access

Mode and special FX

Mode	Description
FM	Best for most channels. Clearer voice, less perceived noise
AM	Classic radio sound. More static and roughness

Once you pick a mode, additional FX options appear to fine-tune the audio.

Edit or delete

Click the pencil icon to edit a channel, or the red trash icon to delete it.

Groups bundle related channels together — organize them by agency or department.

Create a group

Open the Groups tab

CAD admin panel → Radio → Groups.

Click + Create Group

Green button, top-right.

Name and assign channels

Enter a clear group name, then assign existing channels (optional — you can update later).

Save

The group appears in the table.

Field	Description
Group Name	The group’s name
Channels	Channels assigned to this group
Actions	Edit or delete

Edit or delete

Use the Actions column. Deleting a group leaves its channels intact — they just go back to having no group.
