What are LOA Settings?

The Settings page controls how Leave of Absence requests work in your server.
You can require specific information, set duration limits, and customise automated messages. These settings help ensure LOA requests are consistent and easy to manage.

General Settings

General Settings define the basic rules for LOA submissions.

Setting	Description
Require Reason	Staff must provide a reason when submitting an LOA.
Require End Date	Staff must provide an end date for their LOA.
Disallow Shifts on LOA	Staff cannot start a shift while on an active LOA.

You can also copy your LOA request link for staff to use.

Duration Settings

Duration Settings control how long LOAs can last and how often they can be submitted.

Setting	Description
Submission Cooldown	Days a staff member must wait before submitting another LOA after approval or denial.
Minimum LOA Days	The minimum number of days an LOA request must cover.
Maximum LOA Days	The maximum number of days an LOA request can cover.

These rules help prevent misuse and ensure LOAs are used appropriately.

Message Customization

You can customize the DMs sent to staff during the LOA process.

Message Type	Description
LOA Submission DM	Sent when a staff member submits an LOA request.
LOA Cancelled DM	Sent when a staff member cancels their LOA.
LOA Approved DM	Sent when an LOA request is approved.
LOA Denied DM	Sent when an LOA request is denied.

Each message supports variables.

Variables

You can use variables to personalize LOA messages.

Variable	Description
`{reason}`	The LOA reason provided by the staff member.
`{time}`	Short date and time.
`{timeT}`	Short time.
`{timeD}`	Short date.
`{timeDT}`	Long date.
`{timeF}`	Long date and time.
`{timeR}`	Relative time.

These variables help create clear and informative messages.
