How Billing Works

Departments is a paid product with no free tier or trial. You buy a plan and activate it on your parent server, which gives that server department slots. Each active department uses one slot.
  • Slots belong to one server, not your account.
  • Several Departments subscriptions on one server add together. Any Unlimited plan makes it unlimited.
  • Deactivated departments don’t use a slot.

Plans

Every plan includes Melonly CAD, custom rosters, shouts, permissions and Discord role syncing. Prices are in US dollars and taxes may apply.
While it lasts, the first 100 subscribers get 50% off the 6 Departments and Unlimited Departments plans. It’s applied automatically at checkout, once per person, and not if you enter a different promo code.

Buy a Plan

Buy from the Departments page, from Get subscriptions on your dashboard, or from the create department page when you’re out of slots. If you buy from the parent server’s Departments page, the plan is attached to that server automatically. Anywhere else, you need to activate it.

Activate a Subscription

Open Manage subscriptions

This opens on your dashboard right after checkout. Otherwise, click Manage subscriptions on your dashboard.

Pick the subscription and server

Choose your Department Slots subscription, then your parent server.

Activate

Click Activate server. The slots are available straight away.
To move a subscription, click the remove icon next to the server in Manage subscriptions, then activate it on another server. Cancel, change your card or see invoices in the billing portal at melon.ly/billing.

Paused and Failed Payments

If a payment fails, the subscription is paused and the owner gets a Discord message. Update your payment details from Manage subscriptions to resume. While a subscription is paused, cancelled or removed from the server:
  • Its slots stop counting.
  • If there are more active departments than slots, the most recently created ones are deactivated.
  • If no slots are left, the server’s Melonly CAD is turned off.

Deactivated Departments

A deactivated department keeps all of its data, but nobody can use or change it until it’s turned back on. Paying again doesn’t reactivate departments for you. Once there’s a free slot, go to Departments → Overview on the parent server and click Activate next to each department. If CAD was turned off, enable it again in Departments → Settings.
