# Warrants

> Approve, deny, update and cancel warrants from the Law panel.

## What are Warrants?

Warrants let officers arrest someone with a judge's approval. Warrants created on the Law panel are active straight away. Warrants created anywhere else, such as the [Police panel](/CAD/User/law-enforcement/warrants-bolos), stay pending until someone here approves them.

Only active warrants show alerts on name and vehicle checks.

## Reviewing a Warrant

  <Step title="Open the warrant">
    Click a warrant in the **Warrants** card. You can edit it before deciding.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in supervisor fields">
    Fill in all supervisor fields, like your signature. Your [Judicial Name](/CAD/User/law#judicial-name) fills empty ones for you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Decide">
    Click **Approve warrant** to make it active, or **Deny warrant** to delete it.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  Deny warrant deletes the warrant permanently without asking you to confirm.

## Warrant Actions

| Warrant | What you can do |
| - | - |
| Pending | Approve warrant to make it active (fill in all supervisor fields first), or Deny warrant to delete it |
| Active | Cancel warrant once it's been executed or is no longer needed, or Save changes to update it |

Creating warrants needs law panel create. Denying them needs law panel delete.
